No, we’re not training our undergraduates to crack safes. But we are teaching them about electronics, as part of our new Curriculum in Applied Sciences and Engineering (CASE) in the College of Arts and Sciences. Students in physicist Hugon Karwowski’s Electronics II class are designing digital locks and holding a “pick the lock” event on March 5 at 4 p.m. to see if anyone can crack their code.
